Get Your Dream Body with Empsculpt NEO®

Body sculpting treatments have soared in popularity over the past decade, as more and more men and women look for noninvasive ways to eliminate stubborn fat and achieve sleeker, slimmer contours without undergoing surgery. Today, there are plenty of body-sculpting options to pick from — but only one system can eliminate fat while also toning up the underlying muscle.

That system is called Emsculpt NEO®, and it’s the first noninvasive treatment system to receive FDA clearance for achieving both fat reduction and enhanced muscle tone. At Goldman Vein Institute in Jupiter and Wellington, Florid,  our team led by board-certified vascular specialists Saluja Varghese-Goldman, MD, RVT, RPVI, and Alexander Goldman, MD, RVT, RPVI

offers Emsculpt NEO. This state-of-the-art treatment enables patients to enjoy a sleeker, more toned look without the hassles of surgery. Here’s how it works.

The ABCs of Emsculpt NEO

Emsculpt NEO builds on the success and popularity of the original Emsculpt® system, which uses beams of high-intensity focused electromagnetic energy (HI-FEM) delivered to your muscles. These energy pulses cause contractions in the muscles — the same types of contractions that occur with exercise, with one key difference: These muscle contractions are “supramaximal,” which means they’re more intense than the contractions that normally occur with exercise.

Supramaximal contractions increase both the number and the size of muscle cells at a higher rate than you could achieve with regular exercise. In fact, clinical research shows Emsculpt NEO results in an increase in muscle growth between 24-26%. Even better, the Emsculpt NEO system improves muscle tone without countless planks, crunches, or weight-training exercises.

Added benefits of heat

In addition to its use of high-frequency electromagnetic energy, Emsculpt NEO uses radiofrequency (RF) energy. RF energy delivery enhances your results in a couple of ways. First, the warmth created by RF energy helps prepare the muscle tissue, acting in much the same way as doing a warmup before a workout. Warming the muscle tissues supports those supramaximal contractions for greater toning efficiency.

RF energy also gets rid of excess fat cells by gently heating up the cells, damaging the cell walls so fat essentially “melts away.” Over time, your body carries away the debris from those cells, eliminating jiggly fat and revealing those toned contours underneath. Research shows Emsculpt NEO treatments achieve about a 30% reduction in fat on average.

Emsculpt NEO treatments are performed on an outpatient basis with no downtime, no incisions, and no need for anesthesia. Plus, it can be used on patients with a body mass index (BMI) of up to 35.

During and after your treatment

Emsculpt NEO treatments take about a half hour per treatment area. The device is designed to work on several areas of your body, including:

Like original Emsculpt, Emsculpt NEO uses special applicators that are strapped to your body just over the treatment area. During treatment, you’ll lie back and relax while the applicators do their work.

At the start of your first session, the intensity will begin at the lowest level, gradually increasing as the session progresses. Special skin sensors monitor RF delivery to prevent overheating, and our team will check on your progress frequently to ensure you stay comfortable.

Energy pulses vary during treatment, cycling from more rapid, lighter contractions to slower, deeper energy waves to ensure the entire area receives optimal treatment. The last cycle uses slower, deeper delivery to help flush out lactic acid that’s naturally released during muscle activity. Lactic acid buildup is a main cause of soreness after any type of workout, and this final cycle helps decrease post-workout discomfort.

After your session, you can expect to have some soreness, just like you would after having a workout at the gym. Any soreness you do have should diminish over a day or two. There’s no downtime, so you can go back to your regular activity right after your session.
