Am I a Candidate for Varicose Vein Treatment?

With the advancement of modern medical treatments, there is no reason to suffer from painful, unsightly varicose veins. If patients seek early treatment, most vein issues can be resolved before they become a serious issue, like a pulmonary embolism.

Goldman Vein Institute has several safe, FDA approved treatments to get you back to feeling normal and living the lifestyle of your choice.

Types of Treatment

There are several forms of treatment for the removal of varicose veins, with sclerotherapy and Endovenous Laser Thermal Ablation being the most common.

The sclerotherapy procedure entails an expert vein doctor at Goldman Vein Institute injecting an FDA approved sclerosant into the veins, which then breaks down bulging vein walls. With the assistance of ultrasound technology our doctors will eliminate varicose veins without the use of a scalpel. This minimally invasive procedure can be done in-office and takes roughly 20 minutes per leg. Most patients can resume their normal level of activity the same day.

Endovenous Laser Thermal Ablation (EVLT), or Endovenous Laser Treatment (ELT), is an ultrasound-guided laser treatment used to treat refluxing saphenous veins of the legs. EVLT has made vein stripping surgery, an invasive and uncomfortable procedure, obsolete. EVLT is covered by most insurances, has a high success rate, and can be completed in as little as 10 minutes.

Dr. Goldman was one of the first in the country to routinely institute this procedure for his patients and has enjoyed great success with it. Done with only a local anesthetic, patients are awake for the entirety of the procedure. EVLT and sclerotherapy can be completed in any of our state-of-the-art offices at Goldman Vein Institute. Because procedures are relatively safe, there are only a few factors which may prevent patients from receiving treatment.
